Held in Reflection, 2026
The quiet water, soft reflections, and layered hills in this piece drew me into a slower way of seeing. The longer I spent with the scene, the more there was to notice. What first appeared simple gradually revealed subtle shifts in color, light, and form. In a world that often rewards speed and constant movement, moments of stillness can feel surprisingly rare. This painting is rooted in that quiet rhythm, pausing to watch the light dance across the water as the reflections soften and change, and the landscape settles into itself. This piece is a reflection on the beauty of paying attention, and the sense of peace that can be found when we allow ourselves to simply be present with what is before us.
