Alpenglow Drift, 2026

Painted from a camping photo, this landscape began as a mid-afternoon observation. Things often don't end up as I initially intended though, and this piece transformed into something more atmospheric and dreamlike.  The work leans into the feeling of alpenglow, with light shimmering through the trees. A practice in surrender, this painting is a study in memory vs intuition, and letting go of my own plan, and allowing it to become something completely different.
