Lisa Seaman

I create art to celebrate the places we love. With each painting, I offer a toast to the public lands and treasured landscapes that are dear to us. My most recent collection is called “Love Letters to Public Lands.” It’s a series of 20 paintings of local Boulder Open Space areas as well as several National Parks, and for each painting, I wrote an accompanying love letter to each specific locale. I also love to paint bird, trout, dog, and cat portraits, raising a toast to our beloved animals as well as landscapes! For my medium, I paint with acrylics or oils, in my home studio and plein air. I make my art with a palette knife because I like the chunkier style, the forced looseness, and the minimal rinsing required. I returned to painting in 2021, and I’ve learned from several teachers. When I’m not painting, I sing in a choir, study Spanish, dance Cuban salsa, hike, and make pickles. I’ve retired from my corporate job, and now I’m a full-time artist. I welcome home studio tours.
